This is a kit I've been eyeing for some time now. It's an amazing piece of kit that should build into a beautiful and highly detailed model - with full interior and engine. Meng worked closely with Bovington Tank Museum, sending people to research and measure the original specimen on site, so it should be very accurate - that, combined with usual Meng's great engineering suggests I'm in for a treat. This will probably be my build of the year entry for 2016.
First, the box. It's pretty with a nice piece of cover art, big - about twice the usual height of Meng boxes, and fully packed with sprues - 19 in beige plastic and four black sprues with track links.
Apart from that we have a decal sheet, small photo-etched fret, metal chain, four polycaps and separately moulded engine compartment. The manual is nicely done in usual Meng's style and contains 36 pages - or 63 stages. We get colour reference and markings for three versions:
- a tank from the 9th Battalion, Tank Corps, British Army, France, 1918 (my choice)
- the specimen from the Tank Museum in Bovington
- and the tank "Devil", the 4th Battalion, Royal Tank Corps, British Army, Bovington Camp, 1925 (probably a training machine, I should research the name as there must be some story behind it)

Anyway, I can't wait to start this build, although I still have some other stuff I want to finish first.  I do like Meng kits and this looks like another cracker  Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Never had any Meng kits to judge but looking at this one with all that interior detail is tempting indeed. Hope you have great fun putting this one together. Happy Modelling

Hope you have great fun putting this one together. They are great. Lots of detail, great engineering, perfect mouldings. Usually pretty well-researched and accurate. Probably the best new player currently on the market. I'm a big fan of them, the only other manufacturer that takes such big part of my stash is Tamiya. Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.

This looks good, might be tempted to have a crack at this - I have completed the Emhar MkIV and have a dio on hold (theres a link in my sig) but that was a pig to build. This one looks way better and there are also some nice WW1 figures in production too Steve

Not a big fan of WWI stuff but I have to say that does look like a very nice kit that should build into a stunning model!!

When I was a youngster I would build the 1/72 Airfix kit at least once every 12 months as I just loved this Tank. Of course at that age you had no idea of the carnage from that war and its consequences that caused the next war. I still think its a great tank though Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Brilliant detail in there! If only they had brought this out in 1/72 scale last year I could have saved an awful lot of work!! This should produce an excellent model, almost worth doing it as a cut-a-way!
