Im a veteran plastic model builder but this is my first wooden ship.
What is the best way to hold the hull to work on it...
i.e., vise,ship builder foam holder etc?

BigGrin Welcome to the forum cppra62 . To hold the hull straight and to stop any twisting it's best to build a dry dock it is made with a thick peace of wood or mdf the length of the ship and some right angle metal brackets you can buy at any diy store Cool if you look on any of the Vic builds on the forum it will show a lot of different ways people have done it Cool

Hope this helps rgd Martyn

Hi and a warm welcome to the forum, am sure you'll love the experience of building this beautiful kit. Being your first venture into the art of wooden ship building then I would recommend you follow the official build diary, like is as follows:

https://forum.model-spac....aspx?g=topics&f=17

In addition you should also take a look and follow the official video build diary, again link is as follows;

https://www.youtube.com/.../ModelSpaceUK/playlists

There is also a mass of members build diaries on this build you can take a look at.

Both the above should give you all the tips you need to make this a successful build however, should you still require assistance at any stage then just shout and someone will come to your aid.

Hope you will consider creating a build diary for all to see, it is by far the best way for us to ensure you keep on track throughout.

Hope this helps and good luck with the build.

Regards

Alan
