Hello guys! Here in Italy we've just finished the Sky Rider Drone but it doesn't work at all. When we try to fly it, the control unit doesn't stabilize it so the drone flips over and crashes... We've tried everything, whe have calibrated every sensor but it still hasn't flown. Cursing
We are really sad and angry. Of course, we have asked De Agostini but they didn't solve the problem... We think we want a refund.
When will you finish the drone?

Having had a little time to think about it, Have you flown a drone before?? as the learning curve is not a case of throttle up take off and all is hunky dory. One has to learn how to fly the drone first. If there is a fault with the system it will need to be ironed out., We will have to finish the build and see what happens at the completion...

This could also be caused by the esc's being linked up wrong and or the blades being attached on the wrong arms.

I have not finished the building yet, but a lot of people did but the drone doesn't work. Yes, I have flown drones for 3 years.
The problem is the control unit, the sensors or the ESCs. We have mounted the propellers and motors correctly.

Should you be encountering problems with the build then raise it on the Italian forum and with DeAgostini Italy, they are the only people who are equipped to advise and deal with any problems you may be having either with the build or with its operational performance. The build here in the UK still has some ways to run yet so comment cannot possibly be passed relating to its operational integrity until the release here has ran its course. Suggest you raise this again with those in Italy who are best placed to advise and assist.

Regards

Alan

I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.
I don't want to be helped, because you haven't finished the drone yet, but I want TO HELP YOU. If the Sky Rider doesn't work in Italy, it won't fly in Britain, too!
I only wanted to advert you!

Okay enough is enough Mad

By your own admittance you have yet to complete your build, and therefore have not tried anything and have no idea if your own build will be affected or that the matter is not being investigated.

It's possible that customers in Italy have received a faulty component, which once identified will be replaced, or that some incorrect wiring information has been provided, which as this is an 'Italy' matter will be dealt with by our Italian office.

Both Italy and the UK are currently investigating this matter which will be resolved as quickly as possible.

Thankyou for your attention.

Disturbing though such comments are, I am firmly with Mr T on this. It is akin to giving a bad review to a car you have never driven. I will wait for the build to complete before drawing any conclusions and well done Mr T for nipping this in the bud.

After investigation, there are some changes to the labelling/numbering of the ESC receiver cables, which will be conveyed in an update insert just as soon as editorial have them to hand, which will be provided before completion.
This was to be conveyed in Italy, which for some reason did not surface but is now being updated.

The ESC receiver cable numbering update, covers the wiring diagram of the Pack 6 instructions and the ESC receiver cable labelling of the Pack 11 instructions, and also an update for the Pack 12 instructions, which are being provided as 3 insert leaflets across Packs 11 & 12

Hi BigGrin
I've done the wiring adjustements and also the ESC calibration (one motor was slower than the others) and now the drone flies very well (in manual mode). Later I'll try in a big RC air field the GPS functions (in my backyard my drone doesn't find a strong GPS signal).
Here is the video.
