Hi all

Seeing that I cannot direct this to Admin, I am opening a discussion with the members of the forum:

I am a bit concerned about all the disappointing details being discovered such as the hull planking issue.

Which version of the AL HMS Victory are we building?

If it is a dumbed-down version of the kit below, then we are being taken for a ride.

Please give me your opinions as this will establish whether I carry on or not. I can unfortunately not afford to be in Jack's shoes.

Regards
Jacques

Hi,

The kit is an Artesania kit, which we have modified along with AL's expertise, so that the buyers of the partwork have more options about the finish they want.

There is an optional cut-away section

Figures will be included, currently planned for a minimum of 76 and these will be added to create a battle scene diorama – should you wish to include these figures.

Plans will also be provided later on in the series, currently aiming for around issue 40 -50 for the first of the plans to be made available.

The kit can be left unpainted to show off the natural hard- and softwood finish, it can be painted with Trafalgar colours. Paint sets are available in our online shop and have been really successful. There was also an insert in magazine recently for you to purchase via an order form or by telephone should you prefer to do so.

You can choose to add a copper bottom. Copper paint will be supplied with an issue - when the hull is ready to be painted. In addition, we are sourcing a number of other options as additional kits for the copper bottom, should you wish to use copper plates or copper tape to provide the coppering element of the hull. These will be made available to you as soon as we have all elements sourced, tried and tested – the testing of which is currently work in progress. We also want to get it right so you have as few problems as possible on your build.

As previously posted - these elements are additional to the AL base kit, we are still firming up the exact specifications in some areas, but you will all be advised when this is confirmed.

Hi Admin

Thank you kindly for the reassurance.

It would then seem we are getting more than the stock kit.

Looking forward to all the extra "toys".

Again, thanks for doing your best to please everyone. I worked at a User Support Desk as a student, so I understand the stress and frustration, especially when you are not directly responsible for whatever concerns there might be.

Regards
Jacques

Not wishing to cause any over the top reactions Admin....but exactly what hard & softwood finishes? You have already stated that it will all be bass wood.Originally it was going to be different woods, which is what everyone has paid for,but it seems the goal posts have moved somewhat.

Sorry to bother you Admin, just need clarification on this, will they be provided with the subscription, or will we need to purchase them separately?

Cheers and best wishes

If anyone has Facebook, visit the Modelspace page and look at the photos, there is pretty much the entire build for the one pictured there; gives a good insight as to how the build progresses if anyones interested.

Hi
Plans will come with the issues - so subscribers and customers buying through newsagents will received all the plans. we are just finalsising them now to make sure they incorporate any changes we have made to the build. As soon as we know whch issues, we will let you know. BigGrin

A huge thanks for the information Admin, it's much appreciated

It must be difficult to source the plans as I know Artasian are very strict on copyright, and the plans are like gold to obtain, so a huge thanks for your hard work!
