BigGrin Hi All

These kits pop up now and then on fleabay just showing a cardboard box with a Warp models sticker on the front although I suspect there recasts from moulds of an original kit but I may be wrong on that. I have the Babylon 5 Nova Class Dreadnaught and the Shadow Omega Dreadnaught in my stash and thought I would do the Nova as a quick build.

The plain cardboard box contains 8 bags of parts 5 are numbered to aid in building each segment of the ship and hold various cast resin parts the two loose resin parts are part of the engine bay. The other three bags contain cast metal and wire parts some etch and decals and lastly a bag of various guns and greeblys.
The instructions are printed on A4 paper and are pretty basic but at least you get some.

Il post some pics up of the build as it progresses. More soon.

Regards

AndyCool

BigGrin Hi Dave

Thanks for looking in and your comments. I have two other Babylon 5 kits in my stash the Space Station [revel] and the Shadow Omega [warp]. Be wary about buying the Spider Shadow Warp Kit Reports are the very thin arms are very flimsy and just snap and thats just building it.

Oh man, I love Bab5. Got the limited collectors edition in that big steel box with the captains base cap inside. Then I got the cap stolen :-(

BigGrin Hi Greyhawk

I loved the series too but was not lucky enough to get hold of one of those boxes, shame some lowlife had the hat away.

BigGrin Hi All

More progress, The hull's main parts are all on apart from the guns and mounts and the engines. The engines will go on last as there a different colour to the rest of the model. So today all the bow parts were added resin, white metal and wire and now its been undercoated ready for final spraying. Just a load of guns to make up an add now and a stand to make.

BigGrin Hi Dave

Thanks for looking looking in and your comments. The detail as you say is high on this and the other one I have although the shadow ship has a different surface detail and spikes.

BigGrin Hi All

Spent today making up the 18 guns and there mounts the mouldings of which are not great and need a lot of work to get them half decent. Still need to make up the 12 metal mounts for the guns but 6 are finished and painted but wont be fitted until tomorrow now.

The hull has been painted light grey and the engines and engine covers added. I used a dark metalic blue and red on the engines and the thrust tubes were painted in gunmetal. More soon.

BigGrin Hi All

Well she is finished apart from the stand which will be completed tomorrow now as the varnish is drying still. The 18 guns were added and then the whole ship was given a wash in blue and after the decals added. Im quite pleased with her and she should look pretty good on her display stand pictures of which will be posted tomorrow.

Regards

AndyCool
