Hello all, just got my first shipment in yesterday. I'm a novice but I have an old falcon model to practice on so hopefully I'll do this kit justice. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's work and hopefully gain knowledge to help me along the way.

Now first thing I noticed, the hull plating has not been revised. I thought since I was a late subscriber this might have been fixed. I couldn't find any discussion about this in these forums. So I posted this youtube video where he points out the inaccuracies. You can see at 4:08 he begins to talk about it.
Inaccurate Hull side panels

If anyone knows anything about this I'd love to know if anything is being done. Thanks!

Thanks Carl, I'd really appreciate it!!

So I decided to set up shop while I'm waiting for my paints to arrive in the mail.

I have an old Millennium Falcon model I did when I was a kid. I figure since I'm new to modeling, painting and weathering I can use this for practice.

And something I did just for fun over Christmas, a lightsaber photoshop for my nephew.

So the first thing I'm gonna start doing next is weathering the Cockpit seats and ordering some photoetchings for the cockpit.

Ok, so I got my second shipment issues 5-8. Now my cockpit is complete. I haven't decided which route to go though. I want better lighting for my cockpit. I'm thinking about getting the whole shapeways set, or just going with paragrafix photoetching. 3-D printing is soo expensive.

Has anyone here used the photoetching? I'd love to see someone's work with it.
Also if anyone has any recommendations on colors for the cockpit seats I'd love to hear them. I don't think the front seats are as weathered as I see a lot of people paint them.

I have been starting to collect paint. I want to use mostly Tamiya, but I happened to have some Masterworks paint. I think the MW will be good for dry brushing. Many metallic paints from an old project.

Anyway, that's all I got for this month. I'm going to start making a list of Tamiya paints I need to order for the cockpit. Please feel free to leave your recommendations. This is really my first time working with an airbrush and modeling. Any help is appreciated.

I've done all the Paragraphix photoetch sets so far (cockpit, hold, and corridors). I've got several photos of each in my build diary here, and I've also been doing an album on Facebook that has more photos. Here's a link to the latter is you want a look:

As far as the cockpit seats, i used Tamiya Khaki as the base and then dabbed over it with Buff. Pictures of that in the same locations. From the photos there's a bit too much of the original red/orange showing through (maybe should have hit it with primer first), but looking with the naked eye it doesn't look bad.
