Well, now its official, Sky Rider Drone is three months behind. Thats quarter of the subscription time, Not a very good advert for a very well known company, I know it hasn't all been the fault of DeAgostini Model Space, but better communication and, info would have made things a little more bearable. My confidence in this well respected company is all but shot, and Im not certain weather or not I would use them again. Time will tell.......

Longblade, I am 100% in agreement with you. I had never built a part work in the past due partly to the cost compared to buying a finished product (in the case of r/c part works) and partly to the risk of a part work not completing the run.
I took the plunge when I saw that de ag were running a Millennium Falcon part work as I am a huge Star Wars fan and the really isn't an alternative model in the market currently. At the same time, I decided to also subscribe to the Sky Rider because it looked like something fun and also, with the shorter build time, would be complete in time for Christmas 2015.
I have held back previously on my thoughts about the way this subscription has been handled, but the delayed issues, incorrect parts confirmed misprints and complete lack of communication direct from the company (but thanks to Tom at this point for at leas providing some level of update) in what should be a simple build have meant that my confidence in this method of building has also gone.
I will continue to subscribe to both models so that I don't lose out on the significant money already spent, but this will most certainly be my first and last foray into the part work world

Guys I was like you at first. I have 14 different subscriptions going at the same time, and so far I didn't have a single month when everything was in order across all of them. For some time I was very annoyed, and had moments when I just wanted to drop all that, investment notwithstanding. But then I realised that, first - the customer service is handling everything quickly and efficiently. Secondly, I'm building amazing models I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. Thirdly, the community around this hobby, on this forum is nothing but amazing and I really feel I found some friends here. So... a bit of logistic issues? In the end it doesn't matter at all. I'm new to this hobby, I have started just over a year ago and the one thing I didn't realise at first is how much it teaches you to be patient. So... Keep building, and if you find it enjoyable, then the small-ish obstacles on the way won't matter. Have some other builds on the side to fill the time you wait for the parts, and just enjoy the process. Btw, I had parts missing or broken straight in the box of the off-the-shelf models too. The kits are extremely complex to manufacture, a marvel of engineering and logistics. It's the way the things are. Really nothing to fret about if you end up with a great finished model. Edit: and the non-finishing partworks are an urban myth. If you are paying for the collection it will be completed, period. The exception is test runs, but the usually go for 5 issues or so and are not charged, or you can be refunded straight away if you ask for it. Happy building :-) http://www.model-space.com/gb/

I too am thinking of calling it quits after I finish my drone and 3D printer. I can not justify the cost of these subscriptions for the level of service, poor packaging & value of final product. The community is great and Tom is a great help but that is not enough for me to consider taking out another subscription. When the 3D printer is finished that will be my 5th completed subscription. How you have 14 going at once I have no idea!!! Finished 3D Printer, RB7, Hummer, Skyrider drone & Combat tank collection http://www.model-space.com/gb/

Michu,
I am afraid that in my experience with this drone subscription, the customer service is Tom only. If I had not joined this forum, I doubt that I would have received the correct parts and would be in the dark about the 3 month delay since none of my emails direct to de ag have been responded to.
We are paying a very premium price for this product, and I am afraid that I could not in any way say that the service has been premium. This in fact feels very much like a beta product with incorrect instructions, incorrect parts and serious delays. The parts to replace the lost batch were, and I am surmising here due to the time taken, sent by ocean freight and no effort was made to expedite shipping in order to placate paying customers.
I think everybody on this thread has been extremely patient, but the Sky Rider drone thread has now become more of an area to speculate on when we may receive the next pack rather than a build diary.
I would add the caveat that I fully agree that the forum is a very useful area for exchange of ideas and, without fail, I have found all members to be highly professional, helpful and respectful which is great, and I applaud those who contribute regularly. This is just my opinion resulting from an unfortunate experience.

Look on the bright side, it will be ready just in time for the spring test flights, you won't freeze your hands off. As a positive update, I received pack 10 yesterday and built it up already - everything has been in perfect order. Good to hear that pack 10 is shipping. I genuinely can't wait to get the build finished and flying, so fingers crossed no more delays

For reasons I cannot go into, all new subscriptions are being moved to to "Client Base" who will provide a far better level of support and service in 2016 and beyond.
Please be assured that DeAgostini do value your custom and lessons learned.
