BigGrin Hi All

Guess by now most of you know about my obsession for flying wings of a previous era well here is another that I managed to get at a very good discount along with some other goodys. This will be going in the stash for now but will be built at a future date.

The kit comes in a sturdy box with a nice if not wishful thinking picture of the Ho 229 attacking a Lancaster bomber, lifting the lid and there's a sturdy cardboard box that on lifting that lid shows lots of parts in two segmented area's mostly of a light grey plastic but several sprue's of clear plastic aswell all are free of flash and minimal ejection marks this is the norm with Zoukei-Mura kits as they are short run kits.

A closer look at the sprue's reveals a high level of detail such as panel lines and rivets even on the clear plastic parts its the same as this is the ghost skin version. The instructions are very nicely printed very clear and have English text and made to look like old type blue prints/working drawings the Large decal sheet is nicely printed and has all the smaller hatch/safety labels/markings. A quality kit that will not disapoint in fact any of there kits are of this calibre.

Zoukei-Mura also do upgrade sets for this kit and I managed to get hold of the No VII concept notes along with the weighted tyres , metal undercarriage, metal guns and the etch set as a package. The pilot figure with the large preasure helmet I managed to find separately but could only manage to find one of the two combustion chamber sets. There are many books out there on this subject but two of the better are below along with the last book which is an in depth book on flying wing theory and the story of the Horten brothers trials and tribulations.

I was looking at this kit myself, but recently started seeing lots of very unfavourable reviews of Z-M kits. It might be just about their older kits, but the general prevailing opinion was that they are really poorly done with bad fit - completely out of what should be expected at their price point. Looking forward to your impressions when you start the build...

Looks like a very nice kit Drool

I also think you should have a look at the Jasmine model one too, although their instructions are somewhat lacking

Will be difficult as these were mostly opinions from people building them on various Facebook groups. And I don't remember anything bad ever written about this particular kit.
