I generally loved the movie, but I was a bit disappointed with the spaceship designs for episode 7.

It looks like the Tie fighters just got a paint job and the x wings were pretty similar too.

Kylo Rens ship wasnt very awe inspiring either and the star destroyers were not much different from the original series

Now maybe this was deliberate to appeal to the fans of the original series, but since 30 years are supposed to have passed since the end of episode 6 you would think there had been a bit more progress in ship building. I wish there had been some new designs.

What do you think?

What was with the Death Star idea, hey letss copy it from a previous film, make it bigger then have to take the shield down and get an impact in a certain spot, dejavoo anyone??

Some of the Tie fighters yes look the same minus the paint change. Like said in a post above its all about the internals and upgrades. Also like stated we did get the new dual cockpit with under turret version which was pretty cool.

The new X-Wing is not nearly as close to the original. The old one is the T-65. This one is the T-70. I bought the Starwars Miniatures FA expansion that has T-70 in it. Its differences really stand out on the model, but what I was disappointed in is that they don't come across on the screen because you mostly see the T-70's zipping across the screen with fast cuts so you don't get a good look at them. They main difference is the wings. The engines are four half circles that split, and the wings also split as well, so that when closed it looks like two large engines and single wings. Its why many people confused it for the Z-95 Headhunter when images first came online.

I agree that Kylo's shuttle was uninspired. I did like the Storm Trooper dropships though. while nothing over styles, they were exactly what they should have been. Straight forward and practical.

While I loved the reveal of the Falcon, I was a bit disappointed that the ship they were running too got blown up because I wanted to see move of it. Looked cool for the little bit I got to see.
