This is the Italeri World of Tanks Type 59 tank.

I picked this kit up at Tankfest last year.

Its been nearly done for ages but I have only just got round to finishing it off.

Italeri kits are certainly not as good as Tamiya tank kits, but you can still make a decent looking model with them. For World of Tanks players you do get 30 days of premium or a premium tank with each kit.

The World of Tanks kits come with an entire sheet of decals to customise your tank with. Your use of these will depend on how historically accurate you want your model to be but there are tons of tank names and logos to choose from.

I couldn't resist putting a tiger on the front of my tank.

I also put one of the Chinese slogans on the back of the turret. Apparently it says something about igniting a spark?

I used Tamiya weathering kits and a mud stick to finish the model off.

You will have to excuse my ignorance but i am i correct in thinking world of tanks is a computer game?

I do remember seeing Italeris world ofvtanks offerings somevtime ago but never quite understood what they were all about.

Glad to see you finally finished your build. I am terrible for hardly every finishing anything these days despite many good intentions to do so.
Happy Modelling

Thank you for the comments BigGrin

You are correct it's a tank battle game that started on PC and is now on most consoles and mobile phones. You play battles of 15 vs 15 online with other people.

It's great fun and there's plenty of tanks to collect! BigGrin

Thanks for that explanation - understand now what is all about.

Italeri do make some unusual models. I had an email from models4hobby this morning and they had listed a Statue of Liberty model made by Italeri. Most unusual but maybe something that would make a nice souviner build if you have ever been there to see it for real.

Cool looking build Kenjara and great to see another tank build on the forum especially one from the 'World of Tanks' franchise - very well done!! Cool ThumpUp

I too play WoT (on the Xbox One), or used to as I don't really get much time for it lately, usually being too busy. Got up to a Tier X FV215b British heavy tank and I'm also at the first upgrade package on the Tier IX German E-75, but prefer to play in my fully upgraded Tier IV Matilda most of all, a great little tank with a fast reload, which has been a very successful tank for me with many kills - only downside is it's a bit slow, but still a great tank to have in your armoury!

Thanks guys.

I have played the PC version since the start but have been having a few battles on the PS$ version since it was released.

I have invested too much in the PC version to play the other ones seriously but the slight differences between them make a nice change.

I got to the tier 10 jagdpanzer e100 then got bored of tank destroyers. Currently I am playing the Chinese line and have the tier 9 WZ-120 (Manufacturer name for the type 59) and the WZ 111 type 4 tier 9 heavy. I am working towards the tier 10 on both of these trees.

My main tanks are the Chinese T34-3 (Another type 59 spin off/prototype) and British Cromwell Berlin premium tanks.

You can see my full list of tanks here.
