How about a model steam engine? Either a static engine or steam driven motor car for example. Fully working not just a display model. Current Build:-

I have seen some amazing Showmens engine kits, but they are in UK and are at least $10,000.
A steam train would be good too.The only issue would be getting the boiler certified so you dont blow yourself up

Indeed would make lovely models but i guess anything with pressured steam would be a no go on health and safety grounds. Be interesting though to see if anything comes along  Happy Modelling

I believe in USA if you build one of these you need to get the train inspected and tested before you fire it up. It is also $7000 so that would be quite a monthly payment!!! Carl
