Hi, I am new to this forum, but I keep myself updated with all the great build everyone is doing, so I have decided to show my progress so far. Still got some work to finish off the bottom section, and I have added some lighting to the corridors, may not be to everyone’s taste, but the only way to try was to drill holes and hope!!! As for the ramp, I did not like the plastic look, even after painting, of the floor, so I put some grills down, I know it’s not accurate but I did like the finish better. And the rest is of the bottom hull so far. I have also started putting the landing lights/mind your head red lights in place. Thanks for looking Mark Markwarren attached the following image(s):

Nice job. Way more detail work then I plan to do. I have been debating on doing those interior circle lights but after seeing yours I think I may have changed my mind.

Many thanks for all the kind comments, finished the turret section and gun, still have a few greebies to put on, and finish the landing lights. I have also finished the inner gun room and fitted fibre optic cables in the walls with some different colour flashing lights. Thanks for looking Mark Markwarren attached the following image(s):

Really like the look that you've achieved on the lower hull plates...it really brings out the detailing of the parts at the rear near the engines.... Looking forward to seeing your technique on the top hull in the future...

Many thanks for the comments, going to need a mirrored bottom on the display case, other wise you won,t see anything. Once I've finished the lights and final greebies, it all hands for the upper section. I,m really enjoying this build.

Many thanks for your support, my wife now helps me when it's needed, as it was tonight, I needed the patience of a saint tonight drilling small holes for the landing lights. Half way through I stopped for a tea break and wondered what was I thinking, but 6 hours later it was done. Couldn't have done it without the support from the wife. Mind you it will probably cost me big time tomorrow. Markwarren attached the following image(s):

What did you use for the grate on your ramp? When I saw the standard ramp photos I was like your, I felt "meh". I was thinking the shapeways grates for the common area, and it looks like that may have been what you used.

I think that's the standard spaceship floor grating photo etch you can buy. I have no idea who makes it. Someone else used it on their cockpit floor. Oh yea, and Spencer (Warthog) used it as a template to scribe his hold floor by hand. Ron Best Regards,

Yes, it is photo etch metal grating, I have had a look as to where I got it from, bought nearly a year ago, I also did the cockpit floor with it. if I can find which site it was I will post it later. Mark

Remarkable job, Mark. That's intense looking paint work; every panel a little study in dirt and distress. I'm completing the underside at the moment, so I can appreciate the level of attention you've put into this. Many many hours of work in there, I'm sure. Well done.

Thanks is some amazing paintwork and a real credit to your efforts. Just looked at your picture with this part sat on the plan and it shows just how massive this kit is. Would be too big for the space i have available but its not stopping me enjoy all of the builds. Happy Modelling

I have finally finished the underside and have put the motor and board in now as well as a new wiring loom for my landing light, with the intension of fitting them to the board. I have built the underside gun compartment and added some fiber optic lighting in the side walls and metal grate flooring to give it some realism, also fitted my own light, not so bright so the fibers in the side wall have more of an effect. I have also started painting the top hull and engine recess, pictures as below, sorry for the bad lighting. Thanks for looking Mark Markwarren attached the following image(s):
