Looking great Garth, very well done.... .. As Martyn says, brush watered down PVA onto the knot and allow to dry, that should hold it secure..... Regards Alan

Hi All, Compliments of the Season. I sincerely hope that everybody had a peaceful festive season I have really enjoyed fitting the mast stays. As mentioned, I had some problems lashing cotton between the stays. I did eventually use the 0.25mm cotton and not the sewing thread provided. Once again, thanks to all for the advice. Kind regards Garth Garth attached the following image(s): "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. Hello Garth Beautiful job there and your hard work and stress has paid off. With the back drop one feels she should be sailing on the water instead of displayed in front of it. Well done. Hi All, Once again thanks to all for looking in and for the positive comments. Please don’t fret, I have no intention of sailing her in our swimming pool. During December I had to move my operation to our Lapa (thatched structure), as my garage is way too hot. The mercury got up to 38.4°C. Even for our part of the world – that’s HOT, and the pool provided an uncluttered backdrop for photographing the Stays. Kind regards Garth "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. On hold: Bismarck, Golden Hind, Flying Scotsman, Victory Cross Section, SOTS, Tiger 1. Wish list: USS Constitution.

Finished rigging the Gun Ports. I’ll give a quick run-down on my process – hopefully it will be beneficial. I basically followed the steps in the manual, with the exception of the following: 1. I decided to rig the gun ports in batches of about 5 to 8. It all depended on how much thread I had available. 2. I used mainly off-cuts thread from rigging the stays. Anything longer than 40mm was bagged and then processed as per the instructions. 3. At the start of every building session I applied white glue to the gun port rigging holes and inserting the 0.25mm thread. As this was drying, I continued with other building. 4. Once dry, I threaded through the gun ports and glued. again, continuing with other building. 5. When dry, I cut off the ends and started the process again. In no time at all, the gun ports were threaded!!! I suppose my main suggestion here is to save any off-cut thread that is longer than about 40mm as it will definitely be used on something else. I hope this is of some help. Kind regards, Garth Garth attached the following image(s): "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. Now that is looking very good. A very delicate part of the build threading all of those gun port lids but it looks good Happy Modelling
