The 2nd planking is looking good Gil, neat work. Very ingenious solution to the problem of holding the veneer in place whilst the glue dries.
Happy building

Well it took a while, slow and steady spent a lot of time waiting for glue to dry/set. As I have already said I continued with normal white glue and not impact glue. Happy with the results. will need some additional sanding before I add the fender strips.

Build suggests a coat of clear varnish, might try just a coat of wax on some spare pieces to see the finish

WOW! is all I can say Gil. You've made a superb job so far.
I used Danish oil on mine to bring up the 'grain' before I varnished the hull.
Good workBigGrin

With Christmas/New Year over time to bring this build up to date

Have planked the deck and marked out the individual planks and nails and am now adding the additions to the deck and the fancy screen around the rear deck although this is not finished yet. The sides of the Dhow towards the stern have a slight curve which meant some careful bending of the fancy screen. Not quite completed this section yet. I do seem to spend a lot of time waiting for either glue or paint to dry which is why I am also building the RB7 (Xmas present to myself)

The hatches for the deck have been completed but as I do not intend to glue them in place have been removed to avoid damage.

Well that's the Canopy frame and bowsprit added. I have place the "clutter" on the deck, not to sure if I will, as suggested in the build, glue these items onto the deck. Easier to keep it clean if I can remove them unless I make a display case.

Onto the masts, rigging and sails
