hi guys, im coming to the finishing peices of the endeavour longboats hull and im wondering (apart from the fact this is prolly in wrong palce) where i can get red mahogony stain from in small tins and also varnishs, which are the best to use?

 Hi secretsteve have u tried b&q(superstore) they do test pots in a lot of ranges  found it cheaper to buy 3 test pots than 1 standard pot = same volume (yes i am scottish but don't like being ripped off)

haha i've been having a good couple of weeks so violence meters ticking at around 1 and rose to 5 when i found out the row locks and rail pins are mising from my endeavour issue 2. but has to reach about 15/20 before i lash out so its alllllllllll gurd lol.

Hey mate, try teak oil, if you can get a test pot see how it would look as it does bring the wood texture out nicely.

kool i'll look into that, i dont want to paint it as i prefure the natural wood look and this will be the first one i've completed so taking alot of time with it as have already made some majour mistakes, but luckily i think i've recovered them.

b and q do 500ml bottles of teak oil for £3.48
will it make the sapele strips appear deeper/richer in colour? or just bring the grain of the wood out more? never really used it so dont even know best way to apply it
