Ok so the paints hardly dry on my last scratch build and here we are back on wooden ships but a scratch build.
No kit
no plans
no pre cut parts
no rules
Aim is to create a elven warship with crew, approximately about 18" long, general idea 2 decks one being a weapons deck with bolt throwers, and upper deck and captains cabin and maybe even lights.
How mad am I how much will I regret this Unsure
Have a feeling that things may change as it goes along but hey thats the fun of a scratch build.
I have set a programmed build and want it finished by christmas.

So first the weekend I drew a basic plan to scale from plan and front elevation view, next step was to create cardboard templates which will form the ribs and cut them out of 5mm ply this was the hard bit.
the keel is several layered pieces put together leaving a groove for the boards to fit in.
I was lucky enough to find a piece with a natural bend in it

So after this immediate stage its some assembly required and here the issues start, put the cut outs on the keel whilst keeping them straight but also so they are not twisted and angled. This took a little longer than anticipated but got there in the end.
