Another 1/8 build I'm at the early stages with. The 'base' is the Revell kit, but with a new roadster rear deck, Hard top, Dunlop wheels, race interior and engine etc. I'm actually not using a lot of the kit. The rear deck, hard top etc are made by me and a friend who is a pro vac-former. The rear deck was made by chopping up the coupe part of the kit and using a big piece of the roof section as an in-fill. It works out quite well. I'm hoping to get my friend to vac form a few more for me. The front floor/pedal boxes/engine frame is being rebuilt as the kit is just SO wrong. Also, the transmission tunnel and dash need major attention. The front frames will be made from brass. I'm lucky enough to have access to the real car for reference so I'm building the model as the car is 'now'. The red seat in the pics isn't one I'll use - they will be black, and very worn out. The red seat is just testing for fit with the new tunnel and rear bulkhead. All good fun. http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb355/roymattblack/E%20TYPE%20LIGHTWEIGHT/P1011337_zpscgwakwq7.jpg

Many thanks guys. I've moved along to the front end. LOTS of cutting/shutting to the kit parts as the shape is just completely wrong. Also, I've scratch-made the engine frames from brass section and these are now fitted. The first pic shows ALL the engine frame that actually comes with the kit. After binning the part, I made what is now there. The engine in the last pic isn't the one for this model. It's actually for a C Type I'm building (off and on) alongside the E Type. It's only placed as a test-fit. Roy.

Wonderful result, well done. Absolutely love all that under bonnet detail. I can't think of any superlatives that are sufficient here !! Malc.
