hi all....well its been a while since I posted anything so I thought I would share my progress.... over Christmas I decided to completely strip down the hold and corridors and start again !!!this time using the paragrafix upgrades. And after how pleased I was with how my cockpit lighting turned out,I decided to go the whole hog and light the sucker up....its been time consuming but worth it.... also made advances with the top hull plating and started the painting process again... adriuus attached the following image(s):

I like that you've got a light in the turret access corridor. That area is dark on mine and could use something. What did you use there?

I drilled a hole in the access corridor side and inserted a 3 mm led into it like with the light sconces... Did use a green one to start with but it tended to look a bit too green in such a confined space so i swapped to warm white instead

just wanted to share this with you all.......I decided to do a test fit of the interior components to see how much will be visible in the finished model....the answer to my ponderings was "quite a lot really". Its actually quite easy to see into the corridors from the hold area ...I was a bit concerned at the corridors being more or less buried inside but they are actually visible without needing to press your face into the hold!!!! another thing that struck me looking at the profile of this beastie with the two halves together(after a year of parts in boxes and stored in different places)...holy cow ITS THE MILLENNIUM FALCON !!!! Cheers all....keep up all the excellent work adriuus attached the following image(s):

I sm staggered by just how much detail this model has. Just looking at some of your pictures it looks detailed enough to have the actors walking about in there. Hope the rest of the build goes well. Happy Modelling

Looking very good. It is a satisfying feeling to see her take shape and starting to look like the falcon. Darren

Looking fantastic - it is really starting to look like the falcon :) , seeing how much is actually visible when inspection hatches are off has certainly swayed me to use led's and fibre optics for lighting up the interior !! ITS ALIVE !!!!!!! This week I installed the circuit board and finally got to see the ramp in action....its a really satisfyingly sturdy piece of engineering...considering how tiny some of the components are that go into the ramp mechanism. the addition of the circuit board also meant that I could get my head around how to power the additional lighting I've added. because of how I intend to display the falcon on the stand I have shown before I'm not using the gunner chair or lighting in the bottom turret .This has freed up a socket on the circuit board which I have spliced my hold lighting rig into. I am also using the bottom turret as the entry point for the power socket but the provided one wasn't suitable so I swapped it for the dc jack socket from an old guitar effects pedal...this also meant I had to extend the lead which leads to the power switch (circled in yellow)which is positioned to sit in the side wall on the finished model. I had an extra battery box from a spare issue 9 and used its lead and plug to connect the cockpit lighting to the circuit board too. all powered up it works a treat...I will eventually neaten up the wiring so I isn't like a pile of spaghetti in there!! but for now all is good.. last pic is how the falcon will be displayed in flight mode......need to get cracking on some clear acrylic panels to house it now . thanks for all your comments ...hope you enjoy the pics...I'm enjoying seeing everyone's builds coming together.. adriuus attached the following image(s):

Looks awesome Ade!!
Could you possibly let me know what voltage you are using for the power and what voltage your LEDs and resistors are?
I am still back on issue #48 on my sub so it will be awhile before I will be able to mess with the circuit board...

That does indeed look an awesome model and seeing how younhave progressed i would never have been able to house this one Still enjoying all of the builds going on with this one. The Ramp you mention in your build does that operate? Happy Modelling

I'm using a 9 volt dc adapter...again for use with guitar effects pedals...the magazine states that it can run off 9 volts dc so I'm not concerned about burning out the board or anything... as regards the led's I'm not entirely sure of the resistors as they came pre fitted to the led's....I used a site called captain jacks models who provide them pre wired and ive used a combination of 3mm 5mm and fibre optic wire in the lighting....hope this helps

Great work Ade, I won't get mine until towards the end of the month, but like you I already have a wiring loom in place. It's nice to see someone else already fitted and had a trial. Mine will be pretty much the same as yours. Still not made up my mind how I am going to display the model, but one thing is for sure it will be on a 9v adapter. Keep up the good work. Mark. a lot of people are saying the ramp doesnt go all the way up or sticks due to the braces that are installed around the pins. Did you use the braces on your build? My current builds: The Millennium Falcon, Suzuki GSX 1300R Hayabusa, Ford Mustang Shelby
