I have reached Pack 16 Stage 63 Front and Rear Drive Shafts, with no major problems so far apart from a missing front wheel (Still waiting for the part from CS. So far I have received two helmets which is part of the pack but no wheel. I sourced one from a fellow builder, Thanks to AstonV8 for his assist)

I have completed the install of the drive shafts but when I turn them in situ they do not run freely. I would describe it as lumpy/jerky. The problem seems to be with the bevel drive gear where it meshes with the diff. I have disassembled / reassembled but the problem persists

Any thoughts as to what the problem might be.

Did either gearbox feel lumpy before you added the shafts?

Not that I was aware of

I think i will remove the drive shafts again and check the diff and drive gear. This seems the most likely cause as there are more gears involved

Wish me luck

Hi Gil maybe the problem is the bevel drive gear where it meshes with the 43T gear is to tight or slightly out of line like I have had with the hummer. maybe Get the hammer to it Crying LOL

When all else fails resort to "the Hammer"

Removed the drive gear and tapped the gear so that it now sits slightly further back, the gear was not flush with the end of the drive shaft but it is now.

Reassembled making sure the bearings where correctly placed and that the bevel gear cup joint was tight against the bearing

That seems to have done the trick, runs much smother now
