BigGrin Hi Phil

Yep she is starting to put a little weight on but it will save adding more when getting her to sit correctly in the water. Thanks for looking in and your comments.

BigGrin Hi All

The A frames have now had the P38 faired back and the test fitting of the screws to give an idea of where to add the main central rudder and the side half rudders. Once the hull was marked out the holes were drilled by using slightly larger drills until the correct hole size was achieved, the rudders were then put in place to test there movement.

The hull itself will now need to be supported off the build table so I have built a simple cradle to hold the hull out of 4 mm ply. Next I will start fitting out the motor and battery area in the hull. More soon.

Regards

That looks brilliant.

Those brass props are 100% better than any plastic offering.

I bet this will upset the ducks on the pond when you power this one up.

Looking forward to the next instalment.

Very nice Andy, loving all that brassware, though I know most of it will likely be painted later? This is a cracking build, really enjoying it and definitely one to watch in the comp?!

BigGrin Hi Jase and Kev

Thanks for looking in and your comments @ Kev the lower hull was usually painted with anti-fowling black the vertical surfaces including the hull and deck furniture in what was called schnellboot white in effect a very pale grey whilst the roof surfaces were a dark grey. There was some wooden decking in the wheelhouse and around the gun area's but overall the decks were painted dark grey aswell. Some boats did have camo on them but most captains relied on there speed to get them out of trouble rather than paint.

BigGrin Hi All

More progress. I used some more brass tube to give more support to the outer prop shafts. Then cut out the motor/speed controlers, battery mounting base. The base is still free floating for now as the captive nuts for the motor bolts have yet to be fitted along with the battery slot to be cut out. Once this is done the base will be laminated in with glass fibre. More soon.

Regards
