Nice Build Jig Mike
I know where to get the angle plates for the Jig but may I ask
what kind of board that is and what size is it and once I have the
angle brackets in place do I need to screw in to the keel to hold it in place or can I just slide model in place to hold it straight thank you

Hi Ronald, buildboards I use are either shelving boards or MDF and are at least 15mm thick, preferably 20mm. The keel is not screwed to the brackets, it simply slides into place. Hope this helps....

You may find this Jig useful at a later date, particularly when cutting out the gun ports on the Victory. I found that being able to work on the hull when it was at a 45 degree angle made the job easier

Hi Mike
would you know the spacing between the angle brackets or do I just measure the keel thickness once I get the first pack

Yes just use the keel thickness to determine the bracket gap

Hi Ronald

Have you made a start on your Victory yet?

I have had nearly a year of downtime on my hobbies for various reason and must admit i am struggling to get back into things.

My victory got as far as cutting the gunports but not the full completion of the hull planking.

It would be great to see someone making a new start to give me some encouragement to continue.

Hope your build gets off to a flying start
Happy Modelling

Its fairly straight forward.

Pencil in a centre line onto your baseboard.

Offer up the false keel from the victory kit to your baseboard then line up your brackets each side ensuring that none of them cover the slots for the ribs.

Hope it goes well for you BigGrin and post up some pictures of your build should you have any issues.

Happy Modelling

Hi guys
I know making the build jig should be straight forward,
But mine is giving me a hard time I'm having
Trouble screwing in the brackets even, one
ends up a little tight and one a little loose
Can the keel sit in the brackets a little loose
I really need help here even when I use the
Keel as a guide any information or suggestion
would be greatly appreciated
Ronald
