Hello all

I would like to know which primer to use on the metallic parts
of the model. I have read about primers on several modelling forums and it appears
some people do and some people don't use it depending on their preference.

I have bought a selection of Tamiya and Humbrol acrylic paints in readiness for the painting stage but just not sure so if anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful.

Thank you.

Hi Alan,
As you have already Tamiya products I would stay with them try Tamiya Surface Primer Grey in a rattle can first see how you get on. I have tried it and it works.
Any pictures of your build so far?

Trev.

An etching primer is best used on plate parts, commonly used by brass loco kit builders and available at model rail outlets, though be sure it is compatible with the topcoat being used.
