Michael Sorry to hear youbhave been having problems with the Hood as i was enjoying the start of your build and from other builds it look to me like a quality model. I wonder what the problem is? Could it be that the model has run its course in one country and the publishers decide to continue running it but maybe use a different supplier for the parts. A great shame but i guess best to quit before you have paid out lots more money. Hope your Bismarck build goes better for you. Happy Modelling
BUILDING: Hachette Spitfire Mk 1A, Constructo Mayflower SUBSCRIPTION COMPLETE (Awaiting building): USS Constitution, Sovereign of the Seas, 1:200 Bismarck (Hachette) COMPLETED: Porsche 911, E-Type Jaguar, Lam Countach

Hope your Bismarck build goes better for you. That's my thinking, to stop it before I'm financially more involved. I have enough big ships stored in the basement I can build instead. It really looks to me Hachette switched suppliers in the middle of the run. The new parts look nothing like the old ones. It's also strange that Hachette was running this as an online only subscription without magazine or selling the issues at news stands. They've never done this before, they likely have reasons.

On one hand I'm a little dissappointed that you have stopped this build but can understand why if the parts quality has gone done hill, on the other hand I'm really excited to see your Bismarck build. Will the Bismarck be the wooden plank on frame affair or the Trumpeter kit, I ask as I have just sourced a Trumpeter Kit with full Pontos PE set

It was running in Germany at the same time as the Hood was running in the UK and I was about to release it from basement storage, when suddenly availabilty of the Hood was announced here. The German Hood re-release is borked. There's a number of reasons I suspect they switched manufacturing places shortly into the run. Delivery 1 was amazingly good, delivery 2 was delayed for over a month, then arrived with the last building phase looking noticably different from the other three qualitywise, now delivery 3 has arrived with everything looking like it was done during an earthquake.
