Thats a brand from my past "MFA".

My very first mini drill set was by mfa and although my brother now has it the thing still works like new.

Great to see this brand still being used BigGrin

BigGrin Hi Tony

Yes its a brand that goes way back that I remember too. There was a time when you went into a model shop and everything in essential supplies seemed to be in packs from MFA.

BigGrin Hi All

I marked and drilled the holes for the captive nuts to hold the motors in place then added the captive's after that the battery box was cut out of the main board. Next the battery base plate was added to the hull with epoxy, when the main motor base is added there is now a well around 1 inch [2 cm] deep that the battery will sit in.

Next the captive nut holes and the prop shaft holes were all masked off because you can guarantee if I didnt I would manage to get resin in them Crying Cursing LOL Blink . The main board was then tacked in place with super glue then the glass fibre was cut to size and layed around the edges of the board with resin except where the two outer motors are placed. Fixing the motor board in this way will help prevent the weight of the 12 volt gel battery from breaking the board free and gives more strength to the hull.

Once the resin had set it was time to think about the lower deck and how to get one. The lower deck goes forward and under the bridge area so firstly this had to be cut out and that it slides in and out on the hull rail previously fitted. Once this was done the deck was placed in position and the whole hull turned over then its a simple case of drawing a line around the hull to get the deck shape. Yes its slightly oversize but nothing that a little sanding wont take care of. More soon.

Regards

AndyCool
