Hi all, can anyone tell me whether the gun crew figures for the guns visible if one opts for the cutaway version of Victory are included in the magazines or are they available as an optional extra or what? Many thanks, Mike

Mike the figures and additional parts for the cut out come as part of the subscription towards the end of the build. See post #9 in the official build (link below) for additional info http://forum.model-space....aspx?g=posts&t=4345Happy Modelling

Hi Tony, Thanks for the info and the link which I've just looked at. I didn't have a subscription but, instead, got the 120 magazines and components via a couple of auctions on eBay and I am currently around Issue 36 into the build. Would you happen to know whether the cutaway parts are available from ModelSpace at all (or from any other source perhaps)? Cheers, Mike

Mike Sorry but i don't. They are not in the shop from what i can see so maybe one of the admin chaps/Mr T could advise. I guess there might also be a possibility someone may have an unused set they are prepared to part with. Happy Modelling

Hi Mike, if you have all the issues then have a look at issues 118, 119 and 120, I think they contain some figures and if so you may be able to order back issues to make up the number of figures you are looking for. Just a thought. .. Regards Alan.

Hi Alan, Thanks for the thought. Yes, those issues do come with some figures - I think they total about 15 in all and make up a couple of gun crews plus some other figures but I believe the cut-away gun crews came as a separate issue. My search will continue! Cheers, Mike

Hi Mike Just in case you're interested there is a plastic alternative for the crew figures in the shape of the HaT British Sailors and Marines Set #8098. This gives you eight crews complete with cannon (though you wouldn't need them!) along with a good number of Marines in various poses. I'm not sure if they're still in production but you can still find them on ebay or some of the model suppliers on line. Have a look on http://www.plasticsoldie....com/Review.aspx?id=644 Hope this helps. Robin. First wooden ship: The Grimsby 12 Gun 'Frigate' by Constructo Second: Bounty DelPrado Part Works Third: HMS Victory DelPrado Part Works 1/100 scale Diorama of the Battle of the Brandywine from the American Revolutionary War Diorama of the Battle of New Falkland (unfinished sci-fi), Great War Centenary Diorama of the Messines Ridge Assault Index for the Victory diary is on page 1

If you check Mr T's official build for the Victory the very last section shows that the cutaway parts come at the very end of the build. This includes an additional 45 cast figures in Pack 2 in addition to those you will have already received as part of the build. I did not use mine and have only just passed them on to other modellers on this forum. (I had 60+ in all) You may find others who are prepared to let you have additional figures that they did not use. I looked at Mr T's build diary and see what you mean; thanks for the info and kind words of support, I think I'll probably go with Robin's suggestion if my search for the original figures draws a blank. Thanks again Mike

If you decide on the hat industries figures best not to hold out too long as they tend to arrive in limited quantities and become unavailale again for a long time. Hannants are showing 1 in stock at the moment and you may find other stockists still Have stock. https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/HAT8098
