Looks fab so far Daran and I just know you're going to make a top job of this build, well done - did you make that display base yourself?!
P.S. - Did you have a go at that magic paint mixing that we discussed the other day?

Kev Hello Kev and yes I played with paint and was very pleased with my results!! As for the base, no I cheated and bought one, but I will tweak it with some weathering and tyre marks and such. I have been playing with the cockpit tub tonight, fitted some pe and dry fitted the dials. They were a pig to fit, I had to very carefully remove some resin to get them to sit flush, but they are in and now I can prime all the parts!

Primer on the cockpit tub is done, feel like I am getting somewhere now! Oh and this little chap turned up today!

Cockpit tub looks great Daran and nice to see it all 'greyed' out with the primer? Trouble is my friend you now have to step up to the plate and start painting the 'fiddlies' in? Don't forget to hold your breath when doing it otherwise you'll have splotches instead of dots!!
Pilot looks cool and he'll be a nice addition to the whole scene (I think he'll look better with a typical RAF moustache though old boy). Will it just be him next to the plane or do you intend to have any ground crew in attendance as you're going to have some ground equipment included, such as your 'Houchin' and tug tractor?

The pilot is a very nice find. Looking forward to seeing how you finish this figure (i was going to say "see how you finish him off" but that sounds a bit menacing Happy Modelling

Some very good upgrade parts and excellent pilot figure. Think you need to improve on that front undercarriage though. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Nice work on the instrument panel Daran, will really stand out if you add a pin wash and some dry brushing to the instrument bezels? Looking forward to seeing the rest of the cockpit with it's detail painted - the Lightning always had quite a 'busy' looking cockpit which really draws the eye?
Like the look of those Aires wheel bays too, they'll certainly add some interest? Well done my friend - good stuff!!

Hello Phil, I am impressed with the Aires upgrades, although I am a bit nervous about fitting them! Take my time and I should be ok!
The last part of my build turned up today, very nice little kit with lots of detail and plenty of decal options.
