Hi All, Thanks to everybody for all their kind and inspiring comments. Started rigging the Fore top mast Ratlines this past weekend. I get the feeling that I’m in for another marathon. As mentioned earlier, I have a stash of off-cut tan thread – this has come in handy here as well. Kind regards Garth Garth attached the following image(s): "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. On hold: Bismarck, Golden Hind, Flying Scotsman, Victory Cross Section, SOTS, Tiger 1. Wish list: USS Constitution.

Hi All, Thanks again to everybody for looking in and for the inspiring comments. Fore mast Futtock Ratlines fitted. All went off without any hitches. Started the ratlines on the lower shrouds. This has not been that easy. I have had problems with the 0.25mm thread bunching up (almost unraveling) and the shrouds have actually curved. It has been a real effort to align them again. Any tips here will be appreciated. Kind regards, Garth Garth attached the following image(s): "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. On hold: Bismarck, Golden Hind, Flying Scotsman, Victory Cross Section, SOTS, Tiger 1. Wish list: USS Constitution.

Hi Garth nice job on the ratlines . Are you using half hitch knots or the needle method If you look on my build of the San Felipe it shows how I do them , hope this helps Rgd Martyn Building ? Hi Martyn, I've just had a look at your San Filipe. You've done an awesome job on the ratlines. I have taken the easy rout with my Victory and have gone the needle & thread method. I have almost completed the Fore mast and I don't realy want to undo all that work. I will definitely try your method on my next ship model though. Thanks for the advice though. Kind regards, Garth "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl. On hold: Bismarck, Golden Hind, Flying Scotsman, Victory Cross Section, SOTS, Tiger 1. Wish list: USS Constitution.

Hi Ian Thanks for looking in and for the inspiring comments. Finished the Foremast Ratlines. I had much greater success with the starboard ratlines. I suppose that as you work at something, the process becomes more understandable and you become more familiar with it. Looking forward to tackling the main mast. Kind regards, Garth Garth attached the following image(s): "Measure twice, cut once!!!" Finished!!! HMS Victory, Current build: Black Pearl.
