Hi Tomick, just a quicky, do the planks from layer 7 need to be chamfered as it does not say in the mag and i cant tell if they need to be?

I'm not too sure, but I think you only need to taper them so that the row of planks that reach the next deck level, are just below, so that when you lay the next plank, it should fall on the bottom edge of that deck, like you did when you laid the first plank, it also stops the stern planks rising too fast and looking like a tick or Nike swoosh!! lol BUT I MIGHT BE WRONG!!!! yeah i understood about the tapering lonestar, just confused about wether to chamfer along entire lenghth of one side of plank as we did with layer 2-6.

wallace. Sorry mate, read your message wrong  It's always a good idea to chamfer the edges of any plank that are not sitting 90 degrees to the next, this helps them sit better on each other, and enables you to get tighter fitting planks, so any plank that is not sitting exactly flat on the next, should be chamfered, the angle of the chamfer will be determined by the angle the planks meet each other. wallace Chamfering makes the planks sit tight against each other in relation to the proflie shape of the build, therefore chamfer where needed, and don't forget to taper where advised.

Hi Tommick Are the centre and upper level gun decks in line with the Ribs or do they follow the deck level ??

A little unsure what you mean by level with ribs, the middle and upper gun decks are seated on the gun deck supports located on each frame, which should run level from one frame to the next and along the full length and a very slight end to end camber.
