So on with the build. I have started to assemble some of the support vehicles for the Lightning, in other words, couldn't resist opening the boxes!! Nemesis attached the following image(s):

The shock cone, air intake and front wheel well and also the exhausts have been painted and glued into place on one half of the fuselage with the other half just supporting them. This will aid in centering the cockpit tub and also makes it easier when attatching the other fuselage half as i won't have to try and align it all in one go.Nemesis attached the following image(s):

Looking good Nem, this is going to be a fair size when done....

So the main parts of the fuselage are now together, tail and stabilizers fitted. It will now be left to dry over night. I can now get on with the wings.Nemesis attached the following image(s):

I love this plane too. What are you going to use for paint for the metal finish? Alclad?

thanks for the comments peeps, Carl, it is flat aluminium underneath with sea grey and dark green camo on the top. I will be using vallejo air paints. Their aluminium comes out really well if you do plenty of light coats.

That looks brilliant. I think its a great aircraft and you are doing it proud. I think eduard did a re-boxing of the airfix kit with the usual additions they make. Happy Modelling
