I'm just about to start pack 15, can I buy the remainder of the packs
now that the whole model is for sale?

Thank you

Alan

Hi Alan,
That would be very helpful if you could buy the rest, you'll really crack on to another super build.

Hi Trev

Now I've joined the two wing halves, I am really keen to see the model finished. A lot of people criticise the Deagostini Spitfire for not being accurate in it's detail but what drew me to it was it's sheer size.

People should embrace it for what it is-a Spitfire-something this country
will always be proud of.

I have two views about buying the remaining packs.

1) would I rush it to get it finished quickly potentially spoiling it.(probably)
2) I'm almost half way through and at £28 per month is manageable so
the £400 I would need could go towards my next build which is the Hong
Kong Models 1/32 Lancaster.

I know my wife's views-say no more!

Cheers Trev.

Alan

Hi Alan,

Now that you have joined the two wings together you can see that Spitfire shape, this is the exciting part now,and will build your enthusiasm to move on.

I had realize that there were some comments at the start of the build about this bit and that bit but there not building it, and are missing out on a great build.

If you do buy the remaining parts, there will be that temptation to do other bit's ahead of your stage, but you will have the benefit of lining bit's up and getting a good idea of how they fit, but not to fit them together, so that's a bonus!

Finally that Lancaster from Hong Kong Models you are interested in with a wingspan 971mm and a length 660mm that will sit with the Spit very nicely.(could have a Hurricane on the port side?

Regards

Trev.

Hi Trev

I think I'll stick to the monthly instalments. The Lancaster will be a sight for sore eyes!

And a 1/12 Hurricane? What a tribute!

Have a good weekend.

Regards.

Hi Trev

Temptation stood in my way, just couldn't resist!
I have ordered the remaining 17 packs so will be busy for a while.

I won't make the fatal mistake of rushing, I'll do each stage in turn.

At least my wife will know where I am in the evenings!

Regards.

Thanks Trev that's kind of you and I'll bear it in mind.

I'm going to take more photos and post as I go along.

I've been eyeing up HMS Victory-another British great but that
really is large isn't it?

Regards.

Alan

I think Victory can wait as I'm really keen to
get hold of the HK Models Lancaster first.

That said I love HMS Victory and everything it stands for, a truly
distinguished ship! (Yes I am very patriotic)

I know, it's becoming really frustrating. Apparently they want it absolutely accurate and perfect in every way-understandable.

I suppose patience is the answer!

Cheers

It's not going to be perfect in every way, not if it's going by the prototype I recently saw and won't be any more accurate than the latest Tamiya version other than it being in 1/32

I suppose so.

It is the scale that appeals I must be honest.

Same as the Spitfire.

Hi,Alan,I have built the 1/32 scale Lancaster through the diecast forum a few years ago, I don't know if it is the same as the one you are thinking of building I hope it is, for it was a magnificent build right down to the torches, axes, valves, ladder, toilet, ammunition boxes, etc etc, I was able to get hold of 1/32 scale pilots some of them needed knee and elbow operations to fit into rear and midgunner positions, the spitfire wing span is a smidge smaller.I will try to send a photo when I charge the camera up. max

Hi Max

A photo would be good-thank you.

I'm definitely going to buy the HK Models Lancaster, but now that I have
ordered the remaining 17 packs of the Spitfire I am going to focus on
completing this-I'm really eager to see the end result.
I've just ordered the Merlin engine sound from RAM electronics
in America so will sync that with the engine starting-that'll be the bees knees!

I look forward to the Lanc photos. Hope all is well in Adelaide?

Cheers.

Hi Alan,

I can just imagine you sitting there with your Spitfire and a well earned pint, looking and listening to that magic Merlin sound in the back ground.(those will be the days)

All the best

Hi Trev

Indeed! But it will have to be an orange juice and lemonade!

I have a little something in mind for the finished model, something I'll share once it's finished and in all it's glory. Watch this space!

Regards

Alan
