Hi All,Confused

If this report is proven that a drone has struck a passenger plane at Heathrow, it can only mean that one "MORON" is going to cause issues for the majority of drone fliers who abide by the rules and regulations.

Drone Strike?

Lets hope they hit the pockets of the reckless and not those of the legitimate flyers.

Regards

Moron's will never be cured, but the problem is simple enough to cure by Drone manufacturers, who can incorporate Geo-fencing into the electronics (as some are now doing), which prevents take-off in no fly zones such as Airport airspace. I will hazard a guess that this is where CAA legislation is heading.
Geo-fencing is a feature in a software program that uses the global positioning system (GPS) or radio frequency identification (RFID) to define geographical boundaries, in effect a geofence is a virtual barrier.

I had to implement a geo-fencing solution into an app in my last job for recovery vehicles.

It was good fun and pretty simple to do.

The trick when it comes to drones is getting it working well on such little hardware.

Geofencing is used over here with invisible fences for dogs.it is pretty cool.
