I just received this kit yesterday and couldn't wait to share it with everybody here.
This kit is made by Thermal Studio who mainly just do gliders, in fact, this is their only ship kit.
The Tosa Wasen is a work boat from the Tosa, Japan area. Thermal Studio is apparently close to Tosa, Japan which might explain why a glider maker decided to produce a ship kit.
The finished boat is 615mm long which is just over 2 feet long so it is a nice size.
The plastic bag of small wooden parts also has a roll of 3M masking tape, 2 CA glue nozzels and some metal parts such as rings, fasteners, cord and the anchor. Even a wooden sanding block is included and a angle gauge.
Instructions are in Japanese, no surprise, but the pictures seem pretty self explanatory. The company also has a pictorial build blog to help explain further.
There is also a large full size plan view sheet with sections to help further.
The laser cut sheets are of Japanese cedar. Very soft and will mark easily so care will have to be taken. They have laser cut guidelines to aid in positioning of parts during assembly.
Cost was $151.00US including EMS shipping.
I ordered direct from the company and paid with PayPal.
Send an email to shop@thermal-kobo.jp to order your kit.
A great addition to any ship builders stash!

Looks like a nicely produced kit. Japanese instructions, not so sure , but feel sure you`ll get round that minor problem without to many issues. Good Luck and I`m looking forward to seeing this progress. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

It all looks very nicely made and presented. The etched planking effect on some of the parts is a neat idea. Hope you have fun building this one. Happy Modelling

Hi Rosewoodhill, This looks interesting enough that I sent an email to order one and added the display case if they are available. Not sure how much you have explored the web on this topic but give this link a try. There are five pages with some really great pics. Enjoy! http://thermal2.exblog.jp/i65
If you click around at random there are interesting pages to be found. Mark

Could you post here with a pic or two of the case, assuming it was available to be shipped? Cheers, Gord. Hi Gord. Go to page 2 of this link - top two pics; then page 3 at bottom and page 4 at the top. Only pics I've seen. It's not cheap, 10000-10500 Yen. I haven't heard back from Thermal Studio about my order. http://thermal2.exblog.jp/i65
Also, try this link and look in the gallery. This was done buy a professional ship model builder - Clare Hess- good pics to help with your build, provided you haven't already seen this. Enjoy! http://marinemodelartist...a_Wasen/Tosa_Wasen.html
