Thanks Andy I hear a lot of complaints about Vallejo primer but I just leave it for 72hrs to harden and find it nice and tough after that. Made a star on the pre shading, it's slow work, will do that back when the rest of the parts are on. I used Vallejo Model Air 71.056 Panzer Dark Grey for the shading

Looking good, Dave. I will be interested in seeing how you paint your hull. I've been working on my hull painting technique and am mostly happy with the results. They are a bit darker than I would like, but am happy with the overall finish. I will post some pictures when I have some time. It's been hard to even sit down and work on the model with the holiday craziness kicking into high gear. Will almost be relieved when it's all over. Thanks for sharing, Dave. You've obviously got a patient, disciplined approach to this build - something I could do with. Looking forward to seeing more!

I'm at the same stage, but also noticed you can install all the hull plating that has been delivered so far. I was double checking everything and it shouldn't cause any problems in the future, the overlapping tabs on the parts are all left free after I've done that so the won't block the later plates. Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.
Happy building :-) http://www.model-space.com/gb/

That's good to know, that was the next thing I was going to look at so that saves me a job, thanks

More progress of this has been made however I seem to be missing a load of pictures. The ones missing basically cover applying all the panelling to the top frame. This posts starts at 70 through to 77, although I missed 75, sorry I was so engrossed in what I was doing lol. These issues concentrate on the front nose section which has a lot of plant on details, as well as the first of the mandibles and the four inspection bits, again with lots of plant on parts. Ive initially sprayed the inspection pits with Black Stynylrez primer, you can see how smooth a finish you get with this stuff in the pictures. These pits will then be given a light misting of 2 shades of greys. These issues also cover the applying of the pipework on the mandible. I am still undecided how I am going to approach ths as I want the pipes to be painted first. I'm thinking I will dry fit the inspection pits and first the pipes to get them in the correct position before then removing the pits to enable me to spray up the mandible with attached pipes without ruining the paint finish of the pits. I'm currently waiting on the engine parts so I can see how much space I have to fit all the additional white and red lights into the bottom section. davetwin attached the following image(s):
