Hi, ive been asked to post here to try and resolve an issue im having with the diaplay body on the RB7.
I have tried to fit it to the chassis but it will not fit correctly. Its really tight around the fuel tank and i have to stretch it over the tank to get it on.
Once its on it still will not sit in place correctly.

Hi Ian,
It was myself that asked c/s to divert you to the forum so we can better understand/see the problem your having.
Initially we need to see overhead and side view photos of the entire chassis without the display body fitted and also the same of just the display body.
Without seeing how your chassis assembly looks its difficult to determine what may be causing the poor fit of your display body.
Can you also post the photos showing the gaps you get when the display body is in place.

From what I can see, the fitting of the display body near the fuel tank needs to be slightly stretched to go over the “LIP/Seal” around the fuel tank itself
.
The display body being ABS plastic can take a fair degree of twisting if done carefully to get it over the fuel tank.
Its not a problem as such to get the body to fit just as long as you have used the appropriate adhesive suited to ABS plastic for the body parts, any other type of glue may cause the joints to split.
Ultimately this is an R/C car and the display body is fitted without fastening points so as not to detract from its scale look, which may mean there is a small gap of some degree.
If you have raced your model, then its possible you may have bent the chassis plate, which in turn will cause an ill fitting display body, therefore its worthwhile checking the chassis plate is completely flat.

this is it after a number of attempts of stretching it. i have tried again but just not getting any better.
even when i force it into place and hold it there it still doesn't look right.
maybe i have a bad batch of body parts and that is why you havent had any problems before.
i would love to say that its fine and just need a little stretch but its just not happening.

this is where it seams to be fouling the body, you can see its turning white where its tight.

this is a picture of me forcing into its correct position, it sits perfect all the way round, from the section around the rear suspension to the front suspension. its just the circled section that appears to big. this is what is stopping it from dropping down into place. As highlighted via PM, the reason behind your ill fitting display body, is the fact that you have identified that your chassis plate is bent, which was identified AFTER your RB7 having been raced.
Any damage to the display body as a result of trying to get it to fit onto a bent chassis as a result of having a bent chassis and the gaps are as a result of the bent chassis.
