not mothballed,but scapping,great shame.airfix will be on it.

I think that is a fantastic idea but crafted in metal; maybe acquire some of the scrap to make it a truely authentic build.

metal would be good aswell but the size would have to be limited due to the weight of it after completed,Laugh Laugh

A 1/72rd scale would be a good size
ive got a few merlins an harriers at that scale just crying out for a landing platform

Airfix do a 1/350 scale Illustrious if anyone's interested in converting her to Ark Royal. Personally speaking, I don't know the difference between the two.

Artfulbodger has a great idea.

Imagine it, a model with actual metal from the Ark Royal ( possibly with a certificate of authenticity ).

That would be an essential to any model maker, regardless of the scale BigGrin

If they did a part work at 1/72 scale it would be 2936mm long BigGrin and a max width of 486mm.LOL

At that size i would need to build it in the garden cause thats where the miss would put me out to if i did it, along with my clothes, bags, victory and the rest of my worldly possesionsLOL LOL .

But it would be a fantastic build.Drool
