Titanic with interior detailing...

Installments could be hull slices for each watertight compartment. Each compartment split in half longitudinally to allow view of the interior. Ribbing could be lasercut. Plating could be laser cut strips of cardstock. Look at how the DC-3 kit goes together and think oceanliner instead of airliner.

Nice idea Bill, think it would certainly have it's appeal to many...Cool Cool

Scratch the longitudinal split concept. This wouldn't allow for viewing of the areas within and make for a weak structure. Rather, take a watertight section (basically a "U" shaped channel), fit the boilers and uptakes into it (I'm assuming a midship section here) then stack the (removable) detailed decks on top of each other within the hull section.

Once I get my cheap laser operational this might be one of my first experiments.

I'm great on ideas...poor on execution RollEyes

I love the cross section idea, i have seen loads of Titanic models but never a cross section.
