Got issue 57 today

The main switch goes on the side of the hull

Test button A on the circuit board is to test the ramp and light

Test button B on the circuit board is to test lights that have not been connected yet.

The landing gear switch I'm not to sure but it could be a safety switch so you don't beggar the landing gear.

External power socket has a rubber cover so hopefully it will blend into the damage on the hull.

Looking at the wiring diagram schematic the main switch goes here.

Someone on Facebook said that the green wire on the switch wasnt long enough to reach where it had to go. It looks like yours is fine.

Seen that too, believe they mistook the main switch for the landing gear switch

Hi everyone, not been on for a while.

Just plodding along with the build, up to issue 63 and something I have noticed is that I believe the whole engine part will be one piece and removable (possibly to gain access to circuit board)

The original had 3 allen bolts down each side and the frame on the ours has 3 threaded holes but no other holes in rest of the frame.

Nice work, Darren. You're really staying ahead with this one; it's great to see what the next couple of months have in store. Have you screwed all the upper hull plates to the frame? Looks like you've got all the plant-on details planted on too. Are you concerned about future stages requiring something unforeseen? Anyway, keep posting!

Thank you, plating has only got a few screws holding them. The greeblies are glued but will not cause a problem if I have to remove plating.

If anyone has these

then BB8 will watch Star Wars with you and interact with the film. I have watched it twice with him and is so cool.

Looking Good Darren, really shows how big this beauty is. I havn't put any of the pipework in yet myself and you are several more issues ahead of me anyway. ThumpUp
I don't have a BB8 to interact with the film, but sounds like a lot of fun,
just have a wife that talks through it, Not fun!!!

Wow - and there it is! With the engine panels on, it feels more completely like the Falcon than at any other point. Quite exciting. Thanks for posting the latest stages.

Does this mean we'll have 6 exposed Allen screws on the final product's aft section?

At this point, that's kinda what it sounds like to me. Unless there's some greeblies to cover them up that we get at a later point. I'm assuming this is also for easy access to the interior circuit board and such.

The allen bolts are there to replicate the original model and also to give access to to electronics.

Yes, they are definitely on the filming miniature.

They are. I don't expect to have any greeblies to cover them either. Ours just seem to be further in from the edges and larger. It's not bad. Much more drastic departures from the filming miniature are present so this is hardly a point to complain over.

Another mile stone completed, apart from the engine area all the top plating is on.

Issue 72 you get the antenna and mandible frame parts :-D

Great build Darren, having just completed my lower hull frame I am also trying to figure out where to display this beast.

Here is a picture of an idea I am thinking about using. Thinking on having the wall mount fixed to the base and having the Falcon looking like it is taking off.

Regards

Bob

Nice I am up to issue 68. Do you know what issue shows you where to put on the top piping pieces from the previous issues? Are yours temporary or glued on?
