Well I was asked to do this, so I hope I don't bore the pants off everyone. I had never done an all metal model build so it was with some trepidation that I commenced. My thanks go to all who responded to my paint question. I decided to go for an airbrush but not overly expensive and after some practice I think I achieved a reasonable finish, small parts I painted with a brush. I have used two different araldite, one overnight setting and one called Steel that sets in five minutes and is grey in colour. I mostly have used the overnight. I have attached photos of progress so far. Alec alemo attached the following image(s): Built: Bluenose, Arab Dhow, HMS Bounty, Hummer H1, D51, Spitfire,E type Jaguar. In Progress: HMS Victory, , Yamaha YZR-M1
Adapt, improvise, overcome.

Beautiful work Alec! It looks like you got the hang of the airbrush as the paint job looks very nice in the pictures

I would try Tamiya semi gloss black or maybe VaLLEJO model air black. The model air paints have a slight sheen to them.

Hi dslinick, I used Railmatch 2412 weathered acrylic. I not sure that it's available in the US. Alec Built: Bluenose, Arab Dhow, HMS Bounty, Hummer H1, D51, Spitfire,E type Jaguar. In Progress: HMS Victory, , Yamaha YZR-M1
