Well I was asked to do this, so I hope I don't bore the pants off everyone.
I had never done an all metal model build so it was with some trepidation that I commenced.
My thanks go to all who responded to my paint question. I decided to go for an airbrush but not overly expensive and after some practice I think I achieved a reasonable finish, small parts I painted with a brush.
I have used two different araldite, one overnight setting and one called Steel that sets in five minutes and is grey in colour. I mostly have used the overnight.
I have attached photos of progress so far.

Beautiful work Alec!

It looks like you got the hang of the airbrush as the paint job looks very nice in the pictures Cool

Thanks for looking in and the comments.

The attached pictures take me up to stage 21.

I'm loving this build and watching some of the You Tube videos help to give ideas.

I would try Tamiya semi gloss black or maybe VaLLEJO model air black. The model air paints have a slight sheen to them.

Hi dslinick,

I used Railmatch 2412 weathered acrylic. I not sure that it's available in the US.
