I've put it off long enough in any case. Had my share of problems with it and burned out, but I'll need to tackle it now or I will just keep starting new projects instead.

I know exactly how that feels Blushing the number of part built kits i have hanging around is not the right way if doing things BigGrin

With phase 10 the skeleton of the hull is complete. I'm taking a bit of a break here for now and will fit the Victory with its decks because it keeps staring at me accusingly.

Oh sure leave us dangling!!! Dont leave this one for too long-it is such a great build so far.

It's only going to be issue 17 to 20 for the Vicky, so I have a clean cut, then the Bismarck will get her under clothes.

Had to tear off half the planks and reinstall as the instructions neglect mentioning tapering and chamfering the planks and my guess "Well, maybe I don't need to then" turned out to be a wrong guess.

Anyway, issue 12 is done featuring more planking as well as installation of supports in the stern and the deck structure

Yeah, Occre train kit. They want me cut and bend pipes from 1,5mm diameter brass wire now. Should have posted a warning: "Notice: Assembling this kit may require buying a dozen wire cutters".

Issue 13

Extended first planking to the bow and stern. The bow in particular isn't very easy to do as it has got some rather complex curves. Took some yelling and screaming to cow the planks into submitting into place and have them stay there.

Yelling and screaming is better than bouncing it off a wall. LOL

Anyway the yelling and screaming seams to be producing the goods as it looks spot on. WTG

Fun fact: Next issues planks go on like warm butter on toast. Looks like this was just a problem with this specific pack on planks. Should have issue 14 done by tomorrow already

Or maybe two days later. Had to build the building slip for the Royal first.

Issue 14

After extending the first planking in the mid ship to the hull bottom, the Bismarck is now 10% done. The resin part in the stern is only placed to to test fit.

More progress incoming then.

With issue 15 more first planking is done of course.

This

was the bane of my existence, but with patience I finally got the planks to submit.

The hull bottom was pure bliss after that

Remaining holes will be closed in the next phase, then we start decking the deck.
