I recently secured myself a Trumpeter 1/200 Bismarck which came with an MK1 Photo etch detail set. Although the MK1 set is very nice I really had my eye on the Pontos advanced set, it is a bit on the pricey side but has to be the 'daddy' of detail sets for this kit.

This set numbered 27001F1 is made up of the Basic Set 23001F1 and the Advanced Add On Set 21001F1.

The Pontos set comes in a box which contains a further two boxes, everything is nice and secure and was no surprise to find no breakages, unlike the MK1 set that comes in a flimsy cardboard envelope.

Each fret in the Pontos kit comes in its own individual sleeve further protection it from damage.

I would recommend that anyone tackling a Pontos kit to down load the instructions form their website as these will be the most up to date containing any corrections that have been found.

I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking, although I will say one thing I was mighty impressed with and that's the actual rifled barrels Blink

I got the same set for my USS Iowa. Agreed they are expensive (£220) . It was Packaged up very well. Had to get mine from Australia. I've also got the MKone armament set for it. Will be saving to get the Pontos set for Missouri and MKone set for USS Kittyhawk.
Thanks for sharing the pics Dave
