Hi All,:)
Some recent purchases have got the thought processes working, so thought I`d post a few pics and maybe source some ideas.
So here goes:
I live within half a mile from the "Great Central(steam)Railway" and have recently purchased a complete build of the Hachette "Flying Scotsman". Along with the Scotsman I`ve also bought a few extras, hence the idea is only building up steam at the moment.
The basics of the idea is to set the Scotsman and extras at a countryside station which I hope to model loosely on the local station where I live.
What I`ve got so far:
The complete set of the Hachette Scotsman.
An L.H.Loveless and Co ready made Dynamometer car with fully detailed interior.
An original Hornby Trains water tower (only missing the down pipe).
Plus platform ticket machine and track side oil station with sliding door.
What I`ve got my eye on:
Station master
Photographer with old time camera
Artist with easel painting the Scotsman
and a newspaper seller
Still looking for more ideas, but track and scenic materials are in abundance.
For anyone (like myself) who doesn`t know what a dynamometer car is, it`s the carriage the Scotsman pulled on it`s record breaking attempt. Inside the carriage is all the recording equipment used to verify the trains speed.
Attached are the items I have so far.
