Hello all

I've drilled a 2mm hole in the fairing screw housing but when driving the screw home
the housing has split.

I did this carefully as I am aware the metal is soft but it's happened twice.

Any ideas to rectify this?

Thank you

Alan

It will only split if the screw is way too tight when being screwed. Hopefully you've not split all 8 mount holes. Try a slightly larger bit or a touch of lubricant on the screw thread to assist its entry.

The mount points can only be rectified with a replacement diecast fairing parts.

Hi

Thankfully I will still be able to fix the screws. I am going to fill the mounting holes with 2 part araldite to hold the screws in their permanent fixed position.

Thanks for the advice

Alan
