Hi All This is a kit from the Modelexpo stable and is at 1/16 scale with a wingspan of 22.5 inches I also have the Camel kit by this company but it has already had a build and review on the forum. The kit comes in a sturdy blue cardboard box with a picture of the finished aircraft on its front and proclaiming it as 'The Red Barron's Forgotten Fighter' and that 59 of his Victory's were accomplished in this aircraft. On opening the box things look a little sparce content wise, a comprehensive instruction book and parts sheet along with 5 full size plan sheets. A large clear plastic box is next containing 7 very full bags of metal parts and other goody's, under this is the laser cut wing ribs sheet along with the fuselage formers and the propeller blanks, next is a large bundle of strip wood and next to that various metal rod and tubing. Right at the bottom is the laser cut fuselage jig parts. All the wood parts in the kit are top quality along with the metal parts although the castings will need some work to bring them up to scratch. The plans and instructions are very detailed and take you through each stage of construction with plenty of diagrams of the part being worked on. All in all a nice little kit that should produce a very detailed model. One to recommend I think. Regards Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

I have this kit too Andy.Looking forward to seeing you build it.My recommendation from building a few Model Airways kits is to do an inventory because it takes them a while to get you replacement parts. They are very good at replacing parts, just not that quick

I'll be following this one, I have two Model Expo kits myself - the Curtis "Jenny" and an Allerton pumper. Both seem like a lot of work but should build into impressive models. Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.
Happy building :-) http://www.model-space.com/gb/

Hi Andy I built the Camel from Model Expo and I would agree to check the parts list although I will say that I had no problems with Model Expo supplying/replacing parts An interesting build, the only major change I made was to construct my own propeller as I did not like the ply cut-outs provided. But I did use them as templates for my "home made" version. I will watch you build with interest and who knows my Camel may soon stand next to an Albertros on the shelf Gil Current Build:- [color=blue]Stash Avro Lancaster (Full Kit)plus some extra issues I picked up at a good price [color=blue]Built:- Norman Catapult by Mantua,Roman Catapult by Mantua,HMS Victory,HMS Victory XSection,Focker DB1,Bismark,English Carronade Titanic Lifeboat,American Civil War Gatling,Hummer,Sopwith Camel F1,Occre Jupiter ,OcCre Wagon, Latina Arab Dhow, Eaglemass Orrery OcCre Rogers 119 [color=red][color=red]RB7,OcCre Missippi River Boat, Model Airways Fokker DR1 OcCre London L>C>C 106 Ugears Scrambler, Ugears Hexapod Explorer UGears Off-Road Vehicle

Hi Gil I remember your Camel build and its why I bought the camel kit aswell. From a general look at the kit all the parts seem to be there but will double check, I have noticed that a couple of parts are now made from the ali tube stock supplied instead of being castings as before. Like the Camel it looks a well thought out kit to build and will be starting it soon. Thanks for looking in and your comments Regards Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .
