It seems that I'm only doing in-between, small projects recently but that's ok. It's been pretty taxing few months for me and I'll find the mojo to return to bigger projects soon. I hope so. Anyway, this is Tamiya's Honda S600 model kit, pretty new tooling from 2015. Almost out of the box, just with the addition of two small photo-etch frets from Hobby Design, but nothing fancy - just radiator detailing, steering wheel spokes, emblems, windscreen wipers and that's pretty much it. The kit contains just 2.5 (two full size, one half-size) sprues of parts, plus one sprue of clear parts and one of chromed. Plus a set of rubber tyres, decals, and metal transfers for logos etc. The box contains parts for roadster, hard-top and roadster with soft-top unfolded versions, I'm building the roadster with the roof folded down. It's a simple kit, but there is a nicely reproduced engine, the bonnet opens, and front wheels can be set in any position which can add a bit of visual interest. Right now I'm about 2/3 done (just spent a few hours every day now over the long weekend), below some progress photos. And yeah, I just realised I should have used black background as the body is painted off-white color. Well, next time. Also, the model is TINY, about as wide as a pack of cigarettes and maybe 1.5 times as long, possibly less - so while there are some imperfections visible on the pictures, they are not that visible on the real thing. For example, the battery is just 5 mm long, the bigger dials on the dashboard are of maybe 3mm diameter. This was a very small car, powered by a motorcycle engine, which is reflected by the model. Body, before polishing: Engine compartment, not yet installed; there will be more weathering added fof now it's just dirtied. Interior tub, the internal doors panels were tricky to paint as they're moulded as one piece together with the chrome embellishments and handles: Frame, engine, wheels: And upside down: Dashboard, alone and installed (also the bonnet is now in place): That's it for now, but an update should come soon as I'm almost ready to put all these parts together and start adding final details. Thanks guys. I'm beginning to question some of Tamiya's engineering decisions on this one. The interior tub is just a push-fit, but to do that you need to spread the sides of the body and push the tub from the bottom. It "just clicks in place" but still requires a lot of forceful handling of the body. Which is obviously a perfect way to destroy the meticulously laid down paintwork. I'll post the pictures in the evening as I was too angry yesterday to even look at it again. Now i need to find a way to mask everything, sand down my fingerprints and put another layer of paint and varnish. I'm not even sure if I have enough of the colour I mixed left so I might have to do another batch and guess what, with colours that close to white even a dash of paint on the end of a toothpick makes a difference - so it will be very difficult to match. So this one landed in a trash can, and it's Tamiya's fault. I mean my cat named Tamiya, not the manufacturer of this lovely kit. I fixed the paintwork, left it for a few days to fully cure and today I found the car under my kitchen table, reduced to a cat's toy. Paintwork would require full stripping, there were some deep gashes that would need to be filled with putty, but the wheels and suspension are unfixable, he made a mangled mess of all the connecting rods and. Some parts I was unable to find. :-( Any images I post on my personal builds are free to be used and shared under Creative Commons Attribution license, which means you can do what you want with them, on the condition you mention I'm the author.

Sorry to hear that, I was enjoying your build. I lost a couple of kits to moggies when I was a boy. They seem to like plastic models!!

The worst thing it wasn't that far from being completed :( just adding a windscreen and chromed details. I even had all the lights painted, clears glued to chromed frames, all put to the side waiting to be glued in. That's a shame. It's a bit like how I killed my golf, only the cat was me.
