here is my current progress...

Current progress

Overall I'm fairly happy with it, I used a Dremel tool for the gun ports however I did cut the middle ports 2-3mm too big so I've added some extra wood planking to reduce the size, the next stage is to line gun ports.

Awesome work. Your doing a super job on the planking. Mistakes are part of the learning process. Makes us better next time.

So after a 8 months away from the forum due to a career change/house move & lack of computer I'm back.

Progress has continued on the Victory and below is the result so far...

By mid July the hull planking was complete, the gun ports cut and lined and the wales fitted. As I'm going for a painted finish I used filler to smooth out some of the larger gaps (especially towards the bow and stern).

The stern looks really messy at this stage!

By mid October the decks were planked and the detailing started

A few days later the base coat was added with the stripes.

This concludes progress between June & October

The next part shows the model in its current state.

I decided to stain the hull for a dark wood effect, I realize this isn't correct but after trying the copper paint and having it flake off and generally look awful, I gave up.

This brings us up to date and I'm quite pleased with the progress so far. There is a lot of touching up to do on the paintwork.

Hopefully there won't be such a gap between the next updates!
