I feel like I am occupying this space but am on a roll.

This is another Williams Bros model, 1-1/2"=1' scale kit. This represents the engine which powered Charles Lindbergh's solo flight over the Atlantic in the "Spirit of St. Louis" Ryan aircraft. Again another impossible build. The complete wiring harness supplied was rubber and looked horrible and could not be maneuvered to look realistic. So it was totally replaced. Even the spark plug connection were cast in resin. The carburetor air heating piping was also rubber and was scrapped. Doing this part was very challenging. It was build with styrene tubing and stripes heated in hot water and formed in sections. If anyone is interested I do have some detail photos. The carriage bolts in the prop flanges were added as was safety wiring out of stretched sprue over a candle. The display stand is scratch.

The engine is displayed as in need of rebuild. Thus all the oil stains and dirt.

Enjoy the photos.

Wow, this looks amazing. Keep them coming and if you have any in-progress photos that you're willing to share, this would be great too! It's something completely different and I'd love to see more of the build process.

Happy building :-)
