Hi Shipmates
I was wondering if there is a rule of thumb as to how long the planks have to be left soaking before the bending operation. I am just about to start this process and have left the first pack of planks in water for about 24 hours now, but they still don't show much willingness to be shaped. Any advice would be helpful

Hi Daffy, hopefully some of our experts will give you advice on the soaking method, i myself just bought a plank bender from amati and used this, it works by notching one side of the timber creating a curve, the closer the notches the tighter the curve becomes. care has to be taken though as too much pressure can split the timber.

Various methods are described throughout the topic's, but a 10 min soak in hot water should be suffice.
