Hi this came in post today.at 1/96 scale she an impressive kit.length 1340mm, beam 266mm. All up sailing weight 12.2kg. With over 300 brass etch parts, 400 cast metal items.and 100 cast plastic items.plus 62 vac formings for ships boats, funnels guns etc. The parts will need some clean up.but overall look good quality. The hull is very nicely moulded. Overall I'm impressed with this kit. Sorry this is very picture heavy, and don't bore you all to death. Had to split the drawings up into separate pics. Have to get to far away to get it all in an you can't see it.come with separate instructions , which include many drawings to aid putting the various assembly's together. That's a 6 inch rule in various pics to give you idea of size.I will start a build diary when I have done Lil bit to it.cheers and happy moddeling mick. Lovely, really loverly. I have a deans marine ship in my increasingly infamous stash and the quality of both the kit and instructions is top notch. A proper model builders kit that. Will you be adding smoke, lights, sound and RC? Looking forward to thes build very much Jase “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Hi jase, yes she will rc allways intended to get her wet eh.my plans are put a mixer in to aid with turning. Get brass propellers, drill out the port holes, and put in glazed ports. As I read in peace time these would have been kept polished in there brass state. Plank the decks with separate planks, put smoke unit in, lights, sound probably be gunfire. The masts are designed to be removable for transport purposes. Be to high get in car otherwise. And get the main turrets turning. Looking into robot servos to do this, as rc servos don't have 180°movement. Hoping to get started this weekend. Cheers mick. Looks like it's going to be a lot of fun to build. How thick is the vac formed hull? Will you need to reinforce it with fibre glass or resin?

Hi Michael. The hull is glass fibre, not vac form. It about 1.5mm at the top gets bit thicker further down. So when all the deck supports in.and decks will be fairly rigid. I tend to put full width battery and gear tray in about 25mm from the bottom.with suitable holes in so battery's rest on the 3 stiffeners, that are glued to the bottom anyway. So be no need for extra fibre glass or resin. Like with all model boats keep the weight as near to the bottom as you can. Cheers mick.
