Is it indeed stuck (is there any indication that the motors do try to move the head) or rather it seems they are not receiving the signal at all?

I will get back to you in the evening when I have a look at mine and try to understand what might be causing it. I guess you have already checked the obvious stuff: whether you can move the head by hand, are the slider blocks not blocked by anything, etc?

Also make sure the screws securing the pulleys on the motor shaft are screwed in securely.

Paul,
I think it might be a dodgy motor. You could try removing it and testing by connecting to some other lead (best would be Z axis lead as you know this works). If it still does the same, then you'll have to contact customer services and order a replacement.

Please let me know how it goes.

Cheers,
Michu

Update
I removed the head rods and reconnected the printer and everything works properly which it was what i was thinking that the rods was too tight, so now i need to get them lined up better as i think it was my error on lining it all up correctly. back to the drawing board it is then as they say.
