Looking good Alan.

Seems like there`s plenty of work still to come in that bow section, so look forward to the next installment.

Thanks again for looking in guys, really appreciated.... Issue 8 now done and again a straight forward issue as long as everything is squared up correctly.. 4 more bow bulkheads added plus 2 strengthening strips... Think now we can see her shape starting to appear..... Happy building all..

Alan

Hi Alan

She is starting to take shape and with a bow like that she is starting to look like a true thoroughbred built for speed and power that will show even more when the planks go on the bones, looking sweet
Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Thanks Andy, appreciated.... Definitely built for speed, the Italians knew how to build them and she certainly has some beautiful lines.... Think I'm going to thoroughly enjoy this build...

Managed to get some progress tonight with issue 9. Straight forward with the adding of reinforcing strips, these I have to say are very cleverly constructed and ensure all the ribs are held in the correct positions. Apart from the very beginning I will admit this is fitting together really well and any problems so far have been easily rectified... Happy building all..

Coming along nicely. It's fun to try and spot the differences between this and the Bismark/Hood kits.

Hi Greyhawk, have to agree with you. Have been looking at your builds and the differences so far in constructing the hull framework are pretty minimal at this stage. No doubt the differences will become more apparent as we move further forward... Thanks for looking in and commenting, appreciated.

Hi Ian, to be honest I'm not sure if they are cast or whether they are to be shaped later on in the build. I'm sure all will become clear as we progress.... Thanks for looking in and commenting, appreciated as always....

Moved a little further forward with the completion of Issue 10. This had us extending the hull towards the stern by adding another keel section, 3 ribs and the bracing pieces port and starboard. No real issues with this apart from ensuring everything was squared up properly aligned.... Happy building all...

Nice update Alan, great to see your getting through the instructions and sorting out the parts. She is certainly going to be stunner when finished. Are you going to weather or the clean look?

This is a stunning looking ship and looks like you're off to a great start despite some appalling fit issues early on

I'm wondering how you will manage with the Italian instructions later on although I expect the majority of this build will just be drawing on your experience from other builds. Good luck Alan

Thanks for looking in and your kind comments Nem, appreciated as always. My intention is to do some weathering but I don't want to overdo it. This ship spent most of her time in harbour on defence duties due to fuel shortages so was kept pretty spic and span...

Thanks Dave, great to see you take the time to look in and comment, appreciated. The Italian instructions will prove to be a challenge but am pretty sure I'll be able to work my way through them.... albeit a little slowly....
